Pool Rules and Regulations

  • All persons 14 years of age and younger will be swim tested, evaluated and given a color coded band to wear before entering the water. Those who refuse or who are unable to be tested will receive a red band.
  • All persons 14 years of age and younger must wear a color coded band at all times they are in or around the pool area. Those not complying will be asked to leave
  • All children under the age of 9 must be within arm's length of an actively responsible adult 18 years or older
  • Only properly fitting Coast Guard Approved Personal Flotation Devices (PFDs) are allowed in the pool
  • The Y is not responsible for providing PFDs
  • Must wear a bathing suit to be in the pool 
  • A shower is required before entering the pool
  • Persons with a communicable disease are not allowed in the pool
  • Persons under the influence of alcohol or drugs are not allowed in the pool
  • Persons with little or no bladder control must wear appropriate attire
  • Children 14 years and older may participate in water aerobic classes
  • No running
  • No horse play, wrestling or fighting
  • No splashing
  • No diving, cannon balls, twisting jumps or flips
  • No gum, food or glass on deck
  • No band-aids or open wounds
  • No street shoes on deck
  • No blow-up flotation devices such as water wings or plastic rings
  • No flotation devices in the deep end – exception of classes or therapy
  • No sitting on the life lines
  • No tobacco products
  • No jeans or cut-offs or street clothes can be worn as swim attire
