Clark County Family YMCA
Campaign Success Stories
All the following are stories from Clark County YMCA history.

YMCA Resident Camp
This was "Billy's" first summer camp experience. Finishing breakfast he asked the counselor if he could have seconds. Upon his third request his counselor stated, "Billy, you need to save room for lunch!" Billy replied, "We get lunch too?"

Healthy Habits
A member was strongly coaxed by his family to enroll in the YMCA's Healthy Habits class at the YMCA. He was overweight and taking 200 units of insulin per day. He hated working out five months ago. Now he looks forward to working out five to six times a week. He has lost significant weight and is no longer required to take insulin.

Aquatics
His wheelchair brought him to poolside many times a week. His physical therapist followed. Having been injured in a serious accident he was told he probably would never walk again. After fourteen months of water therapy he is now walking across the deck unassisted to the pool for his YMCA water exercise program.

In Summary
These are a few of the many YMCA stories created here at the YMCA. It is not uncommon for people like those mentioned above to attend Y camp, take swim lessons, play basketball, go camping with mentors or participating in health and fitness programs af the YMCA – through scholarships provided by the YMCA's Annual Strong Communities Campaign.

YMCA programs are positive tools to help young people, adults and families grow in spirit, mind and body. That's the YMCA way. No one will be turned away from a Y program due to a lack of funds.
